Obama video message booed at Red Sox game at which Caroline Kennedy threw out first pitch

.
Two items about Obama being booed in Boston at Red Sox 100 anniversary game at which Caroline Kennedy threw out the first pitch (ie it's a democrat crowd, as are Red Sox owners). First item from google news search page, second, MediaIte report with 3 tweets.

From google news page this item from MSNBC was listed. I tried to listen to the video but it was off on other subjects so I gave up. Anyway Obama being booed was mentioned by MSNBC on a google news search page.

"To Obama supporters out there who are a little ticked off that President Obama got boos mixed in with cheers today at Fenway."

Ed. note: 3 twitter messages listed. Two of the 3 were media reporters, 1 a longtime Boston resident and former Boston Globe and now ESPN reporter (Gordon Edes). I don't know the reporters personally but their news organizations (ESPN, Newsday) very much favor democrats and Obama. Note their tweets say "some" boos, or "mixed with cheers." The third tweet was from a Romney staffer so I assume no democrat will believe what he said.

MediaIte: "During Friday’s Red Sox game, President Obama delivered a video message recognizing the 100th of Fenway Park, in Boston. Several people are reporting that his message was met with booing.

The crowd’s reaction, via Eric Fehrnstrom, an adviser to Mitt Romney:

  • Via Boston Globe [now ESPN] sports reporter Gordon Edes:
  • video message from President Obama, talking about 100th anniversary of Fenway, gets some boos.

"Red Sox owner John Henry, who once campaigned for John Kerry and has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic causes."...(parag. 7)

"It was Caroline Kennedy.

There is an historical connection to her selection.

Her great grandfather is Honey Fitz, the Boston mayor who threw out the official first pitch at Fenway on April 20, 1912.

She’s also the “Caroline” in the Fenway anthem “Sweet Caroline,” according to Neil Diamond.

Kennedy was joined by Mayor Tom Menino and the grandson of Mayor Honey Fitz in the ceremony.

They threw baseballs to Hall of Famers Jim Rice, Carlton Fisk and Carl Yastrzemski."
