Muslim man now indicted for NJ murder of his Pakistani-American wife first said the killing was an anti-Muslim hate crime done by others

"A New Jersey grand jury handed down a 17-count indictment Thursday accusing a man and his female friend with shooting and killing the man's wife -- and also shooting the man himself, in what prosecutors say was an attempt to blame a murder on "terrorists."

Kashif Parvaiz, 26, and Antoinette Stephen, 27, were indicted in Morris County Superior Court in the 2011 death of 27-year-old Nazish Norrani, Parvaiz's wife.

The victim was shot to death, and Parvaiz was shot four times, as the couple pushed a stroller carrying their 3-year-old son during a nighttime walk. The child was unharmed.

The killing occurred while the couple was visiting Norrani's family to celebrate the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi said at a news conference shortly after the killing that the fact that Noorani, a Muslim, was killed during the holy month of Ramadan "made this case especially compelling to us."

A release from the prosecutor's office said that while being treated for his wounds, which were not life-threatening, Parvaiz had described the shooters as three men who shouted "slurs about terrorists" at the couple before fleeing on foot.

But within hours of the crime, investigators believed "it was obvious" the victim's husband was behind the attack, Bianchi said.

Noorani had sent text messages to her brother describing escalating hostility and abuse in her marriage, the affidavit says, warning that "someday u will find me dead but its cuz (sic) of kashi ... He wants to kill me."

And according to an affidavit filed in the case, Parvaiz subsequently told police he arranged for (Ms.) Stephen to kill his wife and wound him while the couple was out for a walk on August 16, 2011.

The indictment also charges the pair with conspiracy and unlawful possession of a weapon in addition to child endangerment and child abuse because the 3-year-old had been in jeopardy.

"This case was extensively investigated with witnesses interviewed and significant evidence gathered in numerous states. We now look forward to presenting our proofs in court and again extend our sympathies to Nazish Noorani's family for such a tragic and senseless loss," Bianchi said Thursday.

Attempts to reach the attorneys for Parvaiz and Stephen were unsuccessful Thursday."...via Atlas Shrugs

The Muslim man now indicted for murder of his wife initially said killers were anti-Muslim haters. There were factors that made the case look otherwise from day one, but if you dared suggest that, you were considered a murderer yourself or at minimum someone who should be silenced. This happened to Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer:

6/15/12, "New Jersey Muslim indicted for murder that was initially blamed on "Islamophobia"," JihadWatch, Robert Spencer

"Last August I received the Tweet (below)...from a certain Jawad Rasul. It said:

Thank You @pamelageller and @jihadwatchRS, If you have any humanity, you might ponder over this! nyp.st/phBJuX via @newyorkpost
I had no idea what the heck he was talking about. The link went to a story about a murder in New Jersey. Why were Pamela Geller and I being blamed for a murder when we obviously had nothing to do with it or any other murder? The answer was obvious: Islamic supremacists never miss a chance to position Muslims as victims...and try to place Islam and the Muslim community beyond reasonable scrutiny."...

A Pakistani-American Muslim woman says she sees Pakistani culture as a problem in this case:

8/17/11, "Update: Husband admits to plotting murder; Pakistani-American Muslim woman killed in Boonton, NJ assault," MuslimMatters.org

"The circumstances in which she was killed were horrific but her life with this man was no less turbulent. She was allegedly a victim of domestic violence.

"Shakila Chaudhry, a family friend
from Freehold, said family members had told her that Noorani was physically abused by her husband. “She was such a nice girl; she always got beat up.” Heraa Chaudhry, of Old Bridge, who said she's a cousin of the woman, said the marriage represented “domestic violence at its worst.”..."

Another woman suffering from domestic abuse has been taken back to her Creator because of cultural taboos about domestic violence. How much more could she has asked for help? In a text message to family she apparently said “I m dont no wht to do…cant talk to him cuz he abuse me than…he doesnt wanna live with me…I dont no kids get scared of him sometimes i m so tired of this …I dont no i m scared…someday u will find me dead but its cuz of kashi…he wants to kill me..”

The Pakistani community really needs to look introspectively and ask ourselves, is our 'naak' and 'izza't' more important than our daughters' and sisters' lives? When we send our women back in the hand of savages who mistreat them and abuse them, who are we trying to please? WE are so scared of the community and the people who will talk. Will they be there to raise her children after she is gone? Divorce is disliked but is not haram in our religion, however we are willing to let our daughters face DEATH rather than get divorced from an abuser.

Having said that, I do not blame this particular family, I am sure that they did whatever they could to help her; it is our culture. These norms have been so ingrained in our women, that we do not listen to good naseehah and go back to our abusers."...
