.
11/22/1963, Soviet news agency TASS immediately blamed JFK assassination on "extreme right wing elements." "Teletype Roll Reporting President John F. Kennedy's Assassination," Published by [Dallas, TX], 1963

"Later in the day, the Soviet reaction: "The official Soviet news agency, Tass, said it believed the assassination was carried out 'from among the extreme right wing elements'." Initial comments from individual Russians.deplored the shooting." (this item about 3/4 down the page)

Comment: C-Span replayed the NBC News feed of 11/22/1963 yesterday. No more than a few hours after the killing, NBC Newsman Bill Ryan read the TASS statement above. The assassin of course turned out to be a Communist sympathizer who defected to the Soviet Union in 1959, requested citizenship there, and married a Russian woman. In 1963 as in 2013 the imaginary "extreme right" is blamed.
