Jobless numbers rise unexpectedly week ending July 4, 2015. Previous week revised up by 1000-Reuters

Claims rose to 297,000 on expectations of decrease to 275,000. Previous week claims revised up by 1000 to 282,000.

"New applications for U.S. unemployment insurance benefits rose last week to their highest level since February, suggesting some slowdown in the labor market recovery. 

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits rose 15,000 to a seasonally adjusted 297,000 for the week that ended July 4, the U.S. Department of Labor said on Thursday....  

The previous week's claims were revised [up] to 282,000, showing that 1,000 more people filed than initially reported. 

Economists polled by Reuters had expected new applications to fall to 275,000 last week."
