July 17, 2017, "Poll: Majority of Voters Say Democratic Party Stands for Nothing - Except Opposing Trump," CNS News, Craig Bannister

"Today’s Democratic Party stands for only one thing – attacking President Donald Trump – a majority of registered voters said in a new Washington Post/ABC News poll.

The poll, taken between July 10-13, asked:

“Do you think the Democratic Party currently "stands for something, or just stands against Trump?"

While 54% of registered voters said the party stood for nothing except being “against Trump, only 35% said the Democratic Party stood for “something,” and 11% had no opinion....

More than a third of self-identified liberals (34%) said the Democratic Party stood for nothing but opposing Trump, while 56% felt it stood for something more. Ten percent had no opinion.

Moderates favored “Against Trump” over “Something,” 49% to 41%, with 10% having no opinion.

Conservatives were the most cynical, with 72% saying Democrats just stood “Against Trump.” Only 19% of conservatives said the Democratic Party stood “For Something,” while 9% had no opinion."

Comment: The two parties--which are really one party, the UniParty--exist for no reason except to satisfy their donors' wishes which are: open borders, endless foreign wars, extreme globalism, massive free trade deals, and low minimum wage. Neither party can campaign on this agenda so they just say what they're against.

PS. For those who like "legacy" narratives, this is Obama's legacy. The Democrat Party gave him everything, adored him, put him on top of the world. But the only democrats that mattered to him were coastal elites and maybe some hate groups. He made that clear for 8 years and has doubled down on his preference for elites in his post presidency. It's not unusual for people to destroy political parties. George W. Bush destroyed what was left of the Republican Party after his father and the Rockefeller Republicans drove it into the ground.
